The air was cool at Kurama-dera Temple after the rain last night.
We walked up the stairs to the main shrine. On the way, there was a large cedar tree at Yuki-jinja Shrine. This large tree is the sacred tree of this shrine, and it is said to be 800 years old.

We passed through the middle gate and walked up the stone steps to the main shrine. From this main shrine, if you continue along the mysterious mountain path, you will reach Kibune-jinja Shrine.

It’s also worth walking a little way along the road in front of the main gate of Kurama-dera Temple. You can get a feel for the old townscape.

To get to Kurama Temple, you can take the Eizan Electric Railway. It takes about 30 minutes from Demachiyanagi Station to Kurama Station, the last stop. From Kurama Station, it’s just a few minutes’ walk.
