Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine is located on Mt.Inari, a 233-meter-high mountain at the southernmost tip of the 36 peaks of the Higashiyama mountain range.
This time, I went to the Ganriki-sha Shrine on the mountainside. This is a shrine where, in addition to recovery from eye diseases, you can pray for “insight” and “the gift of eyesight”. Many business people and company owners come to pray at this shrine.

Of course, I didn’t just visit the Ganriki-sha Shrine, I also climbed up Mt.Inari and walked all the way around the approach. The view from the Yotsutsuji (four-way junction) along the way is also nice, so it’s a good idea to take a break at the teahouse.
Some people just see the Senbon Torii (thousand torii) behind the main shrine and go home, but if you can, I recommend climbing to the top of Mt.Inari.
Incidentally, the round trip to Mt. Inari takes about 2 hours. Even though it’s only a 200-meter mountain, you’ll be climbing up a slope with steps, so please wear appropriate shoes and give it a try.

The nearest stations to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine are Inari Station on the JR line and Fushimi Inari Station on the Keihan line, but the JR line is the most convenient way to get to Fushimi Inari Taisha. Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine is right in front of Inari Station. It is two stations from JR Kyoto Station and takes about five minutes.
