Visiting Murin-an in the summer twilight (Kyoto)

Kyoto

In Okazaki, there is a villa called “Murin-an” that was the garden villa of Aritomo Yamagata, a statesman during the Meiji and Taisho periods. It is a luxurious garden with water from the Lake Biwa Canal flowing into the garden and the Higashiyama mountains as a borrowed landscape.

Cars come and go outside the walls, and Nanzen-ji Temple, which is always crowded with tourists, is just around the corner. But this is a world of tranquility.

You need to make a reservation to visit Murin-an. If you are visiting Heian-jingu Shrine or Nanzen-ji Temple, you should also stop by here.
