When you come to Imamiya-jinja Shrine, of course you have to eat aburi-mochi.
Aburi-mochi is a kind of rice cake snack, made of thumb-sized rice cakes dredged with soybean flour, skewered on a bamboo stick, roasted over charcoal fire, and then basted with white bean pastes.
When you leave the east gate of Imamiya-jinja Shrine, you will be greeted by the delicious smell of aburi-mochi.On your left is Ichiwa (Ichimonjiya), which was established in the Heian perio(794-1185)),and on your right is Kazariya, which was established in the Edo period(1603-1868).Both shops are always bustling with Japanese and foreign tourists.
