Visit Koetsu-ji Temple in Takagamine (Kyoto)

Kyoto

Koetsu-ji Temple has a striking entrance leading up to the main gate.

The temple grounds, which are thickly wooded, are dotted with tea ceremony rooms. It is located next to Mt. Takagamine and Mt. Washigamine, and in the distance you can see the 36 peaks of the Higashiyama Mountains.

Originally, it was an artistic village where the Edo-period(1603-1868) genius artist Hon-ami Koetsu and his followers lived. After Koetsu died, it became a temple.
I think the best seasons are the seasons of new green and autumn leaves.
