Visit Ginkaku-ji Temple in the summer (Kyoto)

Kyoto

Ginkaku-ji (Jisho-ji) Temple, located at the foot of Mt. Daimonji, does not have buildings covered in shining silver leaf like Kinkaku-ji Temple. Compared to Kinkakuji, it is a very simple Zen temple.

You cannot enter the buildings at Ginkaku-ji Temple. You can only walk around and look at the garden. The view of Ginkaku (the Kannon Hall) from the Kinkyo pond in the middle of the garden is very atmospheric. This is a good spot for taking photos.

The view of Ginkaku from the small hill in the garden is also nice. The garden is small, but it is worth seeing at least once.
