Go to “Mikane-jinja Shrine,” which looks like it would bring you good luck in money (Kyoto)

Kyoto

There is a gilded temple in Kyoto. It is the Kinkaku-ji Temple, which everyone knows. Kyoto even has a shiny golden shrine. That is Mikane-jinja Shrine.

In Japan, the word “Mikane” can be read as “money,” so people come here to pray for good luck. When you look at the torii gate of this shrine, you can see how it looks like a shrine that seems to bring you good luck in money.

The guardian deity of this shrine is the god of gold, silver, copper, and other metals. It is a small shrine located in the city, but there are many worshippers who come to pray for good luck.

On the day I visited, amulets were selling like hotcakes. In fact, the shrine may be the one that makes the most money.
