The two rivers merge near the Kamo-ohashi Bridge and that river becomes the Kamo River.The confluence of the two rivers is just like a triangle.Stepping stones connect the triangle and both banks, and this triangular area is commonly known as the Kamo River Delta.It is a popular river playground for both locals and tourists.

The Kamo River Delta is located in a scenic area with views of Kitayama (northern mountains) and Mt.Hiei. It is also close to Shimogamo-jinja Shrine.This is a very pleasant place with a nice breeze.So, you should take a picnic and bring a packed lunch.In that case, there is one thing to note. Kamo River Delta is located a few minutes’ walk from Demachiyanagi Station on the Keihan Railway.It is a bit inconvenient as there is no other nearby station. From Imadegawa Station on the subway, it is a 15-minute walk east on Imadegawa-dori Street.
