Teramachi-Kyogoku shopping street, which borders Nishiki Market, is lined with many shops. There are restaurants serving Sukiyaki, Okonomiyaki, Tonkatsu(pork cutlet) and Tempura, as well as many shops selling second-hand kimono, old books, prints, hand fans, incense and other products that allow you to experience Japanese culture.

Unlike the crowded Nishiki Market, Teramachi-Kyogoku shopping street is a wide, relaxed and calm street. The 350-year-old incense shop “Kyukyodo”, the sukiyaki restaurant “Mishimatei” (established in 1873), and the “Samurai Ninja Museum”, which is popular with foreign tourists, are also located on Teramachi-dori. There are also many shops that may not have a long history, but are still loved by the locals.

The Teramachi-Kyogoku shopping street, which stretches north to south, is a lively shopping street that runs for about 500 meters from Shijo-dori to Sanjo-dori. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other.
