Viewing the Zen garden at Daisen-in Temple(Kyoto)

Daisen-in Temple is one of the sub-temples of Daitoku-ji Temple.Walk along the stone paving in the precincts of Daitoku-ji Temple and head north to find the sub-temple.

Daisen-in Temple is a venerable temple that was founded in the Muromachi period (1336-1573) about 500 years ago.The garden of this sub-temple is a typical karesansui (dry landscape) garden of the Muromachi period (1336-1573), which was influenced by Zen thought, and is both abstract and simple.

This sub-temple is also associated with the tea master Sen no Rikyu. If you visit Daitoku-ji Temple, be sure to visit this temple as well.
