This garden is located in Arashiyama, which you all know well.
Moreover, it’s adjacent to the famous Bamboo Grove Path.
The Bamboo Grove Path is always packed with people, but not many visitors come to this garden (Personally, I prefer fewer visitors. Why? Because it helps preserve the garden’s tranquility).
This vast garden is a private estate completed over thirty years by the late Okochi Denjiro（1898-1962）, a prominent film actor active in the early Showa era (1926-1989).
The garden is a circuit style, designed for strolling through the forest.It features moss-covered courtyards, the tea house Tekisui-an, and the Gekka-tei pavilion offering distant views of Mt. Hiei, among other charming structures dotted throughout.
If you wish to experience the tranquil atmosphere of Arashiyama, be sure to visit the Okochi Sanso Garden.Just remember to keep quiet while inside the garden.
