The Sky Hop Bus is a bus that travels around the main tourist spots in Kyoto. There are two routes: the West Line, which runs along the west side of the city, and the East Line, which runs along the east side. There are 22 buses in operation every day. Some of these buses have roofs, while others do not.
These buses are very convenient for beginners to Kyoto, as they circulate the major tourist spots. On a fine day, it is comfortable and great to ride on the second floor of the roofless buses. If you want to ride on a roofless bus, ask the Sky Hop Bus staff which buses are roofless buses on the day of the tour and they will tell you.

Bus stop

The Sky Hop Bus stops are marked with the Sky Hop Bus logo. However, please note that the Shijo-Karasuma / Nishiki Market bus stops are shared with the city bus.
The Shijo-Karasuma / Nishiki Market bus stops, which are shared with the city bus, have a roof. Also, the Sky Hop Bus logo is small and hard to see.
The place where you get off the bus is the same as the place where you get on the bus. There is one Shijo-Karasuma/Nishiki Market bus stop on the west line and one on the east line. Also, please be careful as the locations are on opposite sides of the intersection and are a little far apart.

1.There are two types of buses that will be dispatched: open buses without roofs and covered buses.
2.Unfortunately, seats cannot be reserved.
3.All passengers must be seated while the bus is in motion. The number of seats on each bus is limited, so sometimes it is impossible to board when the bus is full.
4.Roofless buses will operate in rain, extreme heat, or extreme cold. When it rains, ponchos are distributed to passengers.
5.For safety while driving, rain umbrellas and parasols are not available when boarding the bus.
