The Eiden

The Eizan Electric Railway (commonly known as Eiden) runs through the northeastern suburbs of Kyoto city.There are two lines: one heading toward Mt. Hiei from Demachi-yanagi Station, and another heading toward Kurama and Kibune.

This railway serves as both a daily commuter line for residents along the route and a tourist line for visitors.From Shijo Kawara-machi, take the Keihan Railway from Gion-Shijo Station to the terminus, Demachi-yanagi Station. A few minutes’ walk from there brings you to Demachi-yanagi Station on the Eizan Railway.Near this Demachi-yanagi Station are Shimogamo-jinja Shrine and the Kamo-gawa Delta.
