If you look from Heian Jingu Shrine, you can see Shogun-zuka Seiryu-den Temple, a separate building of Shoren-in Temple, on the mountain to the south.This temple has a large stage in its grounds, from which you can see the whole of Kyoto.When I visited, it was cherry blossom season, so the grounds were full of tourists.
You can also walk to Shogun-zuka Seiryu-den Temple.It takes about 30 minutes to get there by walking along the mountain path from Awata-jinja Shrine, which is next to Sanjo-dori Street.
